What is small group training?
While many people might have heard of working with a trainer one-on-one, in small group training you have one trainer working with a group of 2-8 people.
How is small group training different from regular group fitness?
Like personal training, your trainer will tailor the exercises in the program to fit your goals and your experience. This differs from regular group classes which are usually pitched at a general level, with only small modifications.
Benefits of small group training
- Personal attention: your trainer will offer corrections and appropriate modifications and progressions.
- Variety: Workouts will be slightly different every session – including increasing your weights so you continue to succeed.
- Motivation: Having someone exercising right beside you often encourages you to keep going – and work hard!
- Fun: Yes, fun! The right exercise program done with friends can definitely be exciting and enjoyable.
How to consider if small group training is right for you?
While Small Group Training can be an upgrade from a basic gym membership, it’s much more cost effective than having multiple sessions with a personal trainer. If you like encouragement from others, and you can make the session times – then you should definitely give Small Group Training a try!
