Get a feel for our spacious gym floor with: two rooms of free weights, including lifting platforms, pin-loaded machine weights area, stretch and abs & two rooms of cardio.

Group Class Marathon

30 min taster classes running all day! Get sweaty in spin or boxing, get your groove on in Retrosweat, challenge your core in pilates and stretch and elongate in yoga. Sat from 8am – register below to receive the schedule.

Squash Intro

Sunday afternoon squash open day! 1pm – 3pm. Your chance to have some fun and learn how to play squash! Our coaches will be on hand to give you tips and will have racquets and balls. This is a great chance to give squash a go! Regsiter Below

Keeping Surry Hills Fit

Since 1981

Hiscoes began its life as Surry Hills Squash Centre. Windsor Hiscoe started the gym with Ken Hiscoe, a well-known squash player who won seven Australian Championships in the 60s, captained an unbeaten Australian men’s team from 1964 to 1971 and won twenty individual titles (now you know why we’re called Hiscoes!).

How do I book into classes?

Register your interest below and we’ll email you back a link to book classes.

What do I need to bring to a session?

Nothing! Just turn up with a good attitude. We have everything you need, including a water bubbler so you don’t even need a drink bottle.

What other facilities are available?

Hiscoes has free sweat towels and locker service available, as well as garage parking.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course you can! Just allow a few minutes before the session to fill out an exercise safety form.

Join our squash coaches for a fun afternoon. This is a great way to try squash if you’ve never played before! Come along, have a hit and get some free coaching tips.

Also suitable if you’ve played a bit before but have never had any coaching. Your chance to have fun, get sweaty and enjoy a hit of the great social game that is squash!

FREE WEIGHTS

Our spacious free weights area boasts several benches, extensive range of Olympic weights, dumbbells, squat cages and the great ‘no-attitude’ atmosphere that we’re known for. 

PIN-LOADED WEIGHTS

A carefully selected range of cable, pin-loaded machines for working all body-parts.

CARDIO EQUIPMENT

Includes some of the latest technology treadmills, bikes, cross-trainers and rowing machines.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING AREA

Free training matted area where you can access plyometric boxes, kettlebells, slam balls, TRX Suspension trainers, sandbags and monkey bars.

STRETCH AREA 

Our Blue room, where you can unwind at the end of your workout. Now more than ever, with many of us hunched over our desks at work, it’s important to make time to stretch and elongate our tense muscles.
